Online Learning

Learning from home

Tāmaki Makaurau might be operating at Alert Level whā, but rūma toru is not slowing down with our mahi!

Ana (rūma toru) and her sister Alayna (rūma rua) are thinking about Maths. Their awesome mum helped them make the learning activities you see below. Ana and Alayna have to match the number with the word, and then place those numbers in the right order. Tino pai rawa atu!

Not only are they Maths wizards, but they are also experts in Phonics. They are reading words, making the initial letter sound and matching it with the correct letter of the alphabet. Ka wani kē!

As if that wasn't cool enough, the superstar John Nelson is back to share some more work he's been doing at home. John Nelson has been practicing writing words in his book. He focused really hard on forming his letters correctly, even spacing and spelling the words correctly. Ka rawe John Nelson!

Silver Medalists (Left): Puanesi and Tasola.

Gold Medalists (Middle): Sofya and Jorjah.

Smiles for the Olympic games.

Matariki Stars

Check out our diamond Matariki stars! Acacia, Kahlani and AJ are holding their awesome stars made from shapes. Can you see the shapes we used to make ours stars? At Tāmaki Primary School we are looking forward to celebrating Matariki by colouring pictures and learning Te Reo Māori. We love stars because it's nice and bright in the night sky.

Kahlani, Acacia and AJ shining bright like stars!

Gardening and bugs!

We went exploring in the garden today. The worm farm had lots of creepy crawlies including centipedes and snails! We were digging holes in the ground and planting seeds to grow. We love being outside in the garden and being good kaitiaki.

Room 3 Rūkau

In Room 3, we read the Cook Island Māori book "Rūkau nō te rā 'ānau'anga" (Birthday Rūkau).
Rūkau is a special dish from the Cook Islands. It is made with taro leaves, corned beef, onion and coconut cream.

After reading the book, we made rūkau the way Moana and Papa Tere made it in the book.

When it had been cooked, we wrote down some instructions so everyone could make it. We even got to eat the delicious rūkau. It was yummy, yummy, yummy!
